We are born into a world of structure. Humans before us have created laws, customs, and culture that shape the way we move through life. As we grow we may see elements of this structure that aren’t useful or are downright harmful. As we seek to dismantle this structure, there are parts that we can dismantle with a sense of freedom and ease. Other parts are not so easily removed, especially when we might benefit from the structures as they exist. As thoughtful humans it is essential to evaluate the structures that we cling to, making sure they are beneficial to not only ourselves but to others who may not be like us. It is not going to be back and white.
